I served as a medic in B Co. 1st of the 52nd with Jerry in Vietnam. Made many night patrols and combat missions with him. He was always there brave and strong
ready to help and protect. He was more than a good man, and a brave comrade in arms when most of us didn't want to be there. JHM

Jerry was a nice, considerate and happy man usually with a smile. We don't always show our appreciation well enough when we are with people. However, I would like the family to know that I appreciated working with Jerry at Eaton's. Like Jerry I was in a dangerous place when I was in the service, the DMZ in Korea. I thank Jerry for his service to his country.
Jerry will surely be missed. I can visualize his usual smile.

I'm a runner. Jerry was easy to catch up to on 81/2 Mi road where I'd see him, and he'd be a good reason to slow down and just talk. Jerry was good at that. I missed seeing and talking with him this last year. I had stopped over and met you Jeanette. Jerry would ride his motorcycle and stop by my house too. I wondered why I hadn't seen him recently; now I know. I appreciated his friendship and his service for his country. He was one of those "good guys." Sorry for your loss and share a bit of it with you.

Dear Jeannette,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Jerry's passing.
Some of my fondest memories are being at your place and letting us kids ride the lawn mower. The best one was the taped messages we sent to Jerry when he was in Viet Nam, quite a cute story, he told it the best.
He will be missed..
With love and sympathy,

Jerry was a real treasure, a friend who continually reached out. "The Brave" will be greatly missed at our Bravo Company 1/52 reunions. He was always a joy to be around and conversation always flowed when Jerry was in the group.
Our prayers for Jerry's sweet wife Jeanette during this time of his passing. May God comfort your heart with His so great Grace.

Jerry was a really nice guy. I met Jerry when I attended ceramics class at Barn Ceramics which Jeanette owned. I have attended many years on Monday night and along the way the Barves became close to all of us who attended class. We had numerous parties and Jerry always the first one to get something to eat. We became a family of Barnies. We have lost people along the way attending funerals of Barnies and their family members. We love each other. Jerry fixed so many things for me. My mowers, cars, front door, the list is endless. I wish you, Jerry, safe passage. Lynn

From picnics & rides (sometimes being towed) in his boat to him calmly saying "You might want to get over just a little bit.", when riding with our newly licensed daughter as some leaves from the side of the road brushed his arm, his Thurs night visits & how much he enjoyed going for ice cream on a hot summer evening, the many times he came to the rescue when some piece of equipment broke down. He was always ready to lend a hand when anybody needed anything. Since learning of his passing, everything we've done, every where we've gone has brought so many memories of Jerry. He was a truly special friend.
