KC,Gerry and Family:Thanks KC for letting Ida and I know of Gerry's passing. He has been in our thoughts and prayers especially when we travel "Route 66" and other highways we used to venture on back in the seventies. Our kids were also saddened because they grew up around him. He was like a brother to me. Paul and Ida Picotte

KC, I so wish I could have been there to celebrate Gerry's life with your and all our friends. I am so grateful that you had the LiveJournal blog where I could follow the last couple of years and see how thoroughly Gerry enjoyed the closing chapters of his life.

KC, I am sorry to hear about the passing of Gerry. I didn't know him well, but I remember the Pool parties at Dr. Karlen's. Gerry would always just jump right in that Pool and have fun with the Kids and Adults whether he knew them or not. He seemed like a guy who liked to have fun in Life. I know he will be greatly missed.
My Prayers are with you and your family

KC, I had lunch with Gerry this past January, shortly after I retired. Gerry told me to "hurry up and move to the Philippines so KC and I can come for a visit". Josie and I were so much looking forward to having you and Gerry visit us. I will always treasure my memories of Gerry.

I knew Gerry for more than 50 years, and always enjoyed the (too few) times we ran into each other in Browns Valley, usually at Ben's Bait, or that "other place" next door. I am glad I had the chance to visit with him a couple of times during the alumni reunion at the end of June. He will be missed. My thoughts & prayers are with you.

My best memory of Jerry was on a construction site on a hot summers day. His redi-mix truck was hanging over an ominous hole as he was unloading concrete into a footing, I was following him and when I saw what was happening I rushed up to the drivers side and urgently told him that I thought his truck was on the verge of tipping over to which he replied, " Billington you're a big baby." I shrugged and went back to my truck, As he pulled forward I saw two feet of daylight under his drivers side tandems, Whew!!! he made it that day and many others. As I reflect on Jerrys' persona and my relationship with him I can honestly say that I lost a good friend. His passion and love of life touched many. Rest in Gods' peace Bubba.

My best memory of Jerry was on a hot summer afternoon on a construction site. His truck was hanging over an ominous hole pouring concrete in a footing. I ran up to his drivers side window and urgently told him he was about to tip over. He looked at me and said " Billington you're a big baby !"
I shrugged and went back to my truck. As he pulled forward I saw two feet of air under both of his drivers side tandems. That day he made it. Whew!!! Blessings KC Jerry was something else I'm glad he found you. I'll miss him.

KC, So sorry about Gerry, Mike Carter called and told me about him passing. He was the greatest guy to work with, especially being a girl in the industry we worked in, he always listened, and never judged he was like my other pops, especially when mine was 600 miles away. He will be deeply missed, but he will always be remembered. Never ending one liners!

KC, and fam. My deepest condolences. Gerry was a great guy that I will always hold a place in my heart for. He took care of my best bud during some very hard times. And for that one reason alone I love him. But we all know there were many reasons to love the guy.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. I was one of Gerry's many friend's from work. I always enjoyed that "harassing" way he had to get your attention. We had some very good conversations about life. I seen Gerry at his BBQ and he was very much at peace with himself. He was a very good man. He will be missed by many.

"Grandpa Bretzke" was absolutly the best driver I've ever had the pleasure of working with. No matter what mood I was in, when I would get a phone call from him, his "harassing" ways would always bring a smile to my face. He was a great man, and will be greatly missed.

Hi KC, I just heard about Gerry. I am so happy that Jean and I were able to spend time with Gerry on Wednesday, July 8th and he was so much "himself". At the same time, I am also so sad for you. I can tell how much you meant to him and how good you have been for him.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
