Gerald Brownell Obituary
Born in Spring Valley, Minnesota, Gerald served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. In the 1960s, he attended Prairie Bible Institute in Alberta, Canada. He worked many years as a service technician with Minnegasco and supported his wife, Roberta (Bobbie), in running her ceramics shop. Married for 70 years, they built a life of love and shared purpose.
Gerald was an avid fisherman who rarely missed Minnesota's fishing opener, supported for many years by his son-in-law, Jim. He also enjoyed reading and valued time at home with family. He remained in his home into his 90s with the dedicated help of his son Scott and the support of friends from MapleRidge Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta (Bobbie); son, Sheldon; and sisters, June, Betty, and Shirley. He is survived by his children, Susan (Jim) Krause, Steve Brownell, Scott Brownell, and Sam (Kristina) Brownell; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at MapleRidge Church in Maple Grove at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 19th. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to MapleRidge Church in his honor.
