Gerald Bubolz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 18, 2025.
Gerald "Jerry" H. Bubolz, beloved husband, Dad, Gramps, and Great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024 at the age of 87. Born on January 15, 1937 in Underhill, WI he was the son of the late Norman and Frieda (Manske) Bubolz.

Jerry spent his early years in Gillett, WI, graduating from Gillett High School in 1955. He was active playing football, basketball, and baseball all four years of high school. After graduation Jerry served in the US Army for 2 years and the Army Reserves for an additional 4 years. Following his active military service, Jerry began what would become a 40 year career in customer service with Neenah Paper.

On December 29, 1956, Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Mary Woodke. Jerry and Mary relocated to Neenah where they raised their two daughters and lived for 40 years. Upon retirement, they relocated to Sun Lakes, AZ, followed by Lake in the Hills, IL and Fresno, CA.

Jerry remained a lifelong avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badgers and whatever team his grandchildren were currently playing on. He was one of their biggest supporters.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary, his daughters Terri (Murray) Meyer and Kathy (Keith) DeLaere, his grandchildren Mallory Meyer (Eric Moffitt), Lindsey (Erik) Davis, Colin (Natalie) DeLaere and Cameron (Hayden) DeLaere, two great-grandchildren, Palmer and Hudson DeLaere and his sister, Betty Bubolz. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Norman Bubolz, Jr.

Per Jerry's wishes, no services were held. His family thanks the staff of Heritage Crossing for the excellent care they provided Jerry.
