I got to know Gerry in 2011 while we were subcontracted to the military at Trenton base. We had the occasions of travelling together a few times for work, he was always pleasant and fun to be with. We got along well.
You will be missed Gerry, seems not so far away those good times of our lives
My deepest sympathies to his family and friends

I had the luxury of being on our first license course for the 320.
I was scared to death of failure all stressed out gerry saw this and made a point of sitting next to me to joke and keep me calm. The amazing thing about gerry is that it was all the little things he did for his freinds he had my back and i loved him for it. Rest well my freind you will be greatly missed

Gerry and I started our journey as apprentice mechanics at the same time at Air Canada. We worked on the same crew for many years, and Gerry was always one of the best to work with. Always a hard worker, I can't believe how many double shifts in a row that man could work ! At the same time it was always fun. Light hearted and always good for a laugh any time. We shared a lot of shifts, laughs, beers : ) It was a pleasure to know, work, and hang out with you.

I worked with Gerry when we were young mechanics at Air Canada in the late 80's & early 90's; I remember his smile as clear as day and how hard a worker he was. Along with a fairly large group of younger mechanics, we spent a few years as "tank sealers", spending countless hours in the wings of aircraft, sometimes literally bolted-in! Gerry was fearless and extremely agile & flexible, he could get into places I could never get into and I don't recall others getting into either - either due to flexibility or due to fear!
Of course, he was much more than that, he was a skilled technician who loved his work, and I recall a very consistent character - something I admire a lot.
He left you far too young; sincere sympathies to his family & friends, from another 59-year old.

It was year 2014 when I first met you... and its your humility and sense of humor which greatly captured my heart.
The beautiful memories we built together for almost 11 years my love Gerry... are just the one´s giving me strenght and courage to keep going. The thoughts of living without you is breaking my heart...
God knows how much I adore you in my life, and now that you´re gone my love... life seems meaningless. But i I knew that God has a reason why this happened to us... whatever it might be I still thank Him for giving me the chance for having you in my life. I will treasure dearly all the memories that we had all through those long years. God granted us.
I love you so...
May you rest in peace.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. He was a good man and a great neighbour. We shared lots of conversations in the driveway about politics, his work, and stories from his travels abroad. He was always quick to lend a helping hand, and for that I am grateful. Every summer he'd say... "one more tour and then I might retire".... and then again the following summer... "maybe after this job"... But I really got the impression he loved his work so, I'd just laugh and say, maybe next year?? RIP Gerry, I will miss seeing you over the fence. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

Terri, Tania and Family, my deepest condolences on Gerry's passing. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. A true friend, was the best way to describe Gerry. If he liked you, he liked you and there was nothing he wouldn't do for you. I flew across Canada with him two times, and each time was more interesting than the last. We had an engine failure just south of Atikokan, Ont. and I remember him smiling all the way to the landing. After we landed, I asked him, why were you smiling during the engine problem and he said, "I remembered my instructor telling me about ditching an airplane and how it landed after the crash and all I could think about was how we were going to end up in the trees". Well that was Gerry! Always look on the bright side!!!! I truly miss those days of him. I was blessed in life to have a true friend in my life!

Gerry was always joking around, one time he was goading 2 co- workers by saying "you're not going to take that from him are you" then would say the same thing to the other one and was going back and forth with them until one realized what Gerry was doing. At this point Gerry decided it was time to leave and figuring he was a lot younger than his co- worker started to run but the other guy was actually faster than Gerry and caught him very quickly at which point Gerry started laughing, and Jim let Gerry go. That was what everybody loved about Gerry he was always fun to be around and worked really hard all the time. So sad to have lost his life so early. Rip my friend, you will be missed.

Gerry, you were one of my closest friends. We went through some ups and downstairs together as well as many really good times filled with laughter that brought us to tears.
I will never forget how you checked in on me almost daily when I went through my divorce and how you stayed to watch over me after my shoulder had to be reconstructed.
Your journey is over, it is time for you to rest.
Many of us will forever feel empty with you not with us, but we know you are now in a much better place.
Take care my friend, until we meet again.
Until then, I will always remember those immortal word, " get the basket Rob, get the basket"

Terri, Tania and family, Gerry came to visit us in England and at the time I didn't know him real well but his easy going nature, personality and simplistic values made him easy to get to know. It was like an old friend we knew for years. Sad news for sure. RIP Gerry
