Gerald Alvin Davis

Gerald A. Davis passed away peacefully at his home on February 17, 2023. He is predeceased by his wife Peggy M.Davis (d.2020), his parents Rozzell N. Sr. (d.1991) and Elsie V. (Lickey) Davis (d.2010), his brother William E. Davis (d.2019), and Sister Norma V. Grimsley (2009). He is survived by both his daughters, Denise E. Lozano of Round Hill, who was his caretaker at the end of his life and Terri L. Davis of Berryville. He is also survived by his brothers Rozzell N Davis Jr. Of Hillsboro, and Robert A. Davis of Purcellville, as well as one sister, E. Jean Welch of Leesburg. He also has 4 surviving grandchildren, Jessica N. Bruce, Sean M. and Randy L. Reed, and Bennie A. McClellan Jr. as well as two great grandchildren, Sophia R. and Davis R. Bruce, Gerald's namesake, all of Berryville. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Gerald was a Master Plumber for over 60 years. He started his career at Hatchers Plumbing in Loudoun County. He then worked as a Plumbing Inspector for Loudoun County before leaving to work for Bill Groot in Ashburn. After this, he started his own Plumbing business, Davis Plumbing and Heating, which he worked with his brothers for many years. He ultimatly sold his business to F&L Plumbing where he remained employed with his grandsons Sean and Randy Reed until his retirement. He was voted #1 Plumber in the yearly Best of Loudoun poll for a number of years.

Gerald loved to play golf and could be found most weekends, hitting the links with his brothers and those he considered his best friends. His family always awaited his return for the many funny stories of his golf course antics. He was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Country Club for many years. One of which, he won the senior division in their yearly tournament. He was an avid hunter and fisherman in years past. In later years he developed a love of cooking. His Black Raspberry Jelly ranked #1 at the Clarke County Fair one year, for which he was quite proud.

At the time of publication, his funeral will have past but donations can be made in his name to The American Lung Association or Capital Caring Hospice. He will be buried at Hillsboro Cemetery with his wife.
