Gerald Edward Durocher

Durocher, Gerald Edward Fenton Age 67, died Thursday, May 21, 2015. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Sunday and 2-4 and 5-9 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where a scripture service will be held at 7 PM Monday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society or the American Heart Association. Gerry was born May 17, 1948 in Dearborn, the son of Edward and Mary (Olasuk) Durocher. He married Nancy Antinossi on July 31, 1970. Gerry owned and operated several construction companies in the area. He was an active member of the Silver Lake Ski Club for 26 years. He was a big hearted man who constantly gave of himself to others, and he was a mentor and father-figure to many. Gerry carried many burdens, both his own and those of who he loved, on his broad shoulders. He was far from perfect, but he was perfect in his imperfection. He loved fiercely and unconditionally, shared ruthlessly, and forgave quickly. Gerry spent much of his life involved in the rote practice of religion, but was alive with a renewed spirit and faith in God in recent months. His trust was firmly with his maker and he knew he was not alone in whatever was yet to come. Surviving are: wife, Nancy; four children, Nicole (Don) Stilson of Linden, Gerry (Laura) Durocher II of Byron, Andrea (Neil) Steinkamp of New York, Kristen (Nick) Stilson of Howell; 15 grandchildren, Anna, Nathan, Jack, Brandon, Caiden, George, Clare, Lucy, Cameron, Lincoln, Tess, Tate, Jase, Elizabeth and Clay; brother, Russell Durocher of Linden.
