Gerald Franke

Franke Gerald Franke, 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep on 7/11/ 2004. Preceded in death by wife, Helen and brother, Carlos. Survived by daughters, Barbara (Richard) Chadwick of Chanhassen, Elizabeth Richter of Sedona, AZ; grandchildren, Victoria (Ross) Jacobson of Hillsboro, NC, Valorie Chadwick of Chanhassen, Justin Chadwick of Chaska, Damien (Deborah) Chadwick and Manette Chadwick of Mountainview, CA; great- grandchildren, Aaron and Casey Jacobson, Madison and Max Chadwick. Gerald was born on July 20, 1911 in Preston, IA, and spent his early years on a farm in Sauk Centre. He moved to St. Paul and graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in 1929. He attended the University of MN and Globe Business College. He worked in banking at St. Anthony Park State Bank and the Dayton Co. In 1952, he joined the Minnesota State Fair as Office Manager for 18 years. In 1971, he became State Fair Treasurer until his retirement in 1976. Gerald was a member of St. Hubert Catholic Church in Chanhassen. He spent his last years at Auburn Manor Nursing Home in Chaska. "Jerry" will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
