I grew up with the Langs on McLellan when I was a boy. "Shaky Jake" was a nickname he got because he would always light my candles on my birthday cake. I still remember the day his first wife Pearl passed away while I was on my way to school. He was sincerely a nice guy, and will be missed...

Jake and Betty are the neigbors directly behind me and I'm going to miss Jake dearly. He was always there for me for whatever help I needed, we laughed and joked together all the time. I'd walk my dogs past their porch and would talked to them for long periods of time. He was a kind, gentle and humorous man. I called him my Jake the Snake or Jakey, I loved him dearly. Gonna miss ya Jakey.

Dad,

To simply say, "THE VERY BEST". I will miss you so very much. You smile, humor and words of wisdom. I am going to pass the Sandman Story of my youth to your grandson, Zachery - He misses you - his papa. 4:30pm is going to be hard for me, I will miss our daily chats. My childhood memories will never fade, we had good times as a family and I will always remember them. I share the stories with Zachery.

I love you dad - papa

What a pleasant memory of Jake every Friday morning at the beauty shop when Betty had her hair done. Always a wonderful smile and a good joke -- and sometimes even sweep up the haircuts!

Jake and that big smile, I don't think I every saw Jake without this trademark happy smile, Growing up across the street from him and Pearl and Little Jake, and Jennifer, he was always around to help, and loved to chat and hang with the brothers. He was so handy, his house always looked gorgeous. He will be missed by all who knew him, Holly (Hanauer) Lewis-Roberts

So SORRY to here. Never had a real opportunity to know my relatives as I would have like to, but I can tell you that the little time I had talking with Uncle Jake I enjoyed every minute. I have been out to visit only one time in my life, thirty six years ago, I think I was twenty. One memory was when I was out their Uncle Jake had a family gathering, not knowing alot of the people I wonder up to the food table and proceeded to take what I thought was meat balls, all Ya they were meat balls but not from beef, I had about five or six and then notice my Uncle Carl and Uncle Jake laughing so I decided to find out what was so funny, Uncle Jake said >Jimmy I see you like those do you know what they are,I responded not really but good tasting, Uncle Carl said we call them Rocky Mountain Oyster, what are those, Uncle Jake said "laughing" SHEEP NUTS.
I'm so thankful when my Dad passed away that Uncle Jake & Uncle Carl flew in, and that is the good memories I will remember.
Will miss you buddy, thanks for being my Uncle.
Our loving thoughts.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
