Gerald MAKIN

Gerald Makin, good friend to my late father, Bill Francis. I have a fine teapot he made. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Gerald, my elder brother, always felt close even when half a world away. He was a great influence in my life and the sharing of our mutual interests in the arts, culture, life and world events was always a meeting of minds.
Happily he and Jean were occasionally able to visit Helga and me in Germany and later in France.
The last time we were together was on my one visit to Tasmania which was before he was so seriously handicapped following his accident. We were, nevertheless able to converse by telephone and his mind was still as clear as ever despite some loss of memory.
His passing is a grievous loss. I loved him
dearly.
