Gerald Park Obituary
At 18, Jerry enlisted in the United States Army, serving honorably for three years. His military service included assignments at Kagnew Station in Ethiopia and Arlington Hall Station in Virginia. After completing his service, he married Sharon Park on July 24, 1965. Their nearly 60-year union was a testament to enduring commitment and partnership.
Jerry's passion for baseball began in his youth and continued through his time in the Army. He went on to serve his community as a San Diego Police Officer for 35 years, demonstrating steadfast dedication to public safety. A devoted member of Guardian Angels Church since 1970, Jerry served as an usher for 50 years, offering quiet support and faithful presence to his parish community.
He was a cherished figure among family and neighbors alike, especially within his close-knit community on Three Oaks Way. Known for his warmth and kindness, Jerry touched the lives of all who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Park; his son, Kevin Park and wife Carmen Park; his daughter, Vernicea Hilligas and husband Lenny Hilligas; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on May 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Guardian Angels Church in Santee, California.
His legacy of service and love will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Cecil and Judy Brown, Becca Brown my Dad and Jerry were friends since they were kids, or trouble makers. Depends on how you looked at it. Mom and Sharon were both Catholics and they realized that they couldn't go to the same Mass together because my Dad and Jerry couldn't behave. I tried to find a picture of my Dad and Jerry but I couldn't find one. You will be missed Jerry. Sharon, you and all the kids are in our prayers.

My deepest sympathies to the entire Park family and all those like me that were fortunate enough to call Jerry a friend. I will miss our conversations and the laughs as he was always good for a story or two. Jerry will be missed but never forgotten. Love you Mom and Kevin.

My sincere sympathy and healing prayers to Jerry's family, loved ones, and friends. He and I shared 57 years of friendship. Jerry was Godfather to my children, and like a brother to me. He was a special human being who I will miss more than than words can express. There is peace knowing Jerry is with our Lord and Savior free from pain. His life was a blessing to all who knew him.

I was just getting to know Jerry I come to Santee to visit my grandson which lives up the road and I would go and get doughnuts and stop by and have one with Jerry every time that I visit I am going to miss time with Jerry, so sorry to hear about his passing.
