Dear Lynn and family - I only recently became acquainted with Gerry (my second cousin), who La Nelle Glass recommended I contact for Jerry's work on the McCarthy family tree. He put me in touch with Meg who since has shared her work with me. Our thoughts are with you at this time of loss.

Ruth and I have many fond memories of Jerry and Family members. He was the loyalist of classmates and friend.

My deepest sympathy to you all. I know your dad will be greatly missed, but what a wonderful legacy he leaves behind...his family. Many of my fondest, and some of the funniest, include you and your family, Kathy! I pray that you will find comfort and peace in your heart, and find the strength to smile through your tears. I have only known Jerry for about 5 years, the amount of time I have spent on the First Federal board. In those 5 years I came to respect and appreciate Jerry , not only for his knowledge of our industry, but as a man who was steady and kind.
I will miss seeing Jerry every month. My thoughts are with his family, as I know they have lost a very special person.

I remember Jerry Pierce from his days in Minburn High School. He was a young man with a lot of quiet dignity, which bespoke even then what kind of life he would live. He graduated one year ahead of me. His obit did a lot to "fill in the blanks" for me, and only tended to confirm what I would have guessed. He was both a gentleman, and a gentle man. My sincere sympathy to all of his wonderful family.
