I had the honor of meeting Mr. Ratner in 2007. He was an amazing man with a generous spirit and wonderful kindness. We shared many subsequent discussions in which his enthusiasm and encouragement were always present. I will always remember him with great fondness and appreciation for all that he tried to help move my dream forward.

Mr. Ratner loved life. He was one of those guys you knew would always be happy to see you, and vice versa. He was an inherently good man who put other people's needs before his own. He had a way, and those stories of his were unforgettable. I speak of him often and know that by telling stories of Mr. Ratner, we can keep his spirit alive.

I was fortunate to have known Mr. Ratner (Gerry) all of my life. I would seek his counsel when I needed advice or just wanted to hear his life stories. I loved talking with him and we would reminisce about Eunice and my mom (Marie). He is truly one of the men that I deeply respect. I am so grateful that he was able to meet and bestow some of his wisdom and insight on me and my son. I will miss him and will always cherish the memories I have.
