Gerald R. Wharton Frankford - The Wharton family is sad to announce the passing of Gerald R "Jerry" Wharton, 81, of Seaford, DE, formerly of Leesburg, FL, Galion, OH, and Mansfield, OH.

Jerry passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, June 10, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Jerry is a 1959 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, he worked at Pace, Thermo Disc, and retired from HiStat Manufacturing in Lexington, OH in 2008.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Stark) Wharton, children, Sheri Weitzel of Pittsburgh, PA, Susan (Bob) Ruggles of Frankford, DE, and a son, Steve (Melissa) Wharton of Rotunda, FL. Granddaughters Amanda & Lindsay of Florida and two great grandsons, Jaxon & Tucker, as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Along with his parents, Clifford & Gladys (Heichel) Wharton of Mansfield, OH, Jerry was preceded in death by brothers Carl, Lawrence (Dorothy) of Mansfield, Donald (Gay) of Ashboro, NC, sisters Elenore (Gerald) Finley, Evangeline (Gene) Yarman and Lillian (Richard) Conard of Mansfield, OH.

Special thanks to Accent Care Hospice of Delaware and the nurses at Atlantic General Hospital for their knowledge & compassion at a difficult time.

No visitation or service is planned, per Jerry's wishes, but the family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.

He touched many lives; the family would love to read your memories of Jerry.
