Awww. I am so sorry to learn this and so late. I was just thinking about him last night while having Christmas dinner with my two daughters home from colleges in the East Coast. One's a History major. She got the bug from me. :) I have always LOVED History and this man was the reason. He was humble, engaging, kind, witty and made learning fun. He cared about us students (even the unruly, rowdy ones) and the school. I am happy to say my daughter informed me that she's added another Major - Anthropology/Sociology. I couldn't be prouder - THANK YOU Mr. White. For quietly making an impact in this world. Well done Sir. Rest in Paradise : )

Mr. White is the very reason why I enjoy teaching history today. He was such an inspiration in and out of the classroom. Always had a kind /uplifting word to offer. He made me and everyone he came in contact with want to do their absolute best. Heaven has one more angel on the roster!

Jerry was a dear friend, I taught with him at North Chicago High School for almost my whole career there. in addition, Jerry and I coached girls' softball for many years. His calm and kind demeanor endeared him to the girls...they all loved "Mr. White"! Our family also lived vicariously through Jerry's stories of his camping trips and his beautiful photos. Jerry was a dear friend and will be sorely missed!

my thoughts and prayers to the family! He was my highschool history teacher (way back when!) -- he always had a smile on his face and he was so laid back! It was an honor to be in his class and be his student! He ALWAYS genuinely cared about his students.
