I've known Jerry since grade school. As a matter of fact I have at my desk, the 1950, St. Saviour's grade school football team photo. Jerry, his two brothers, Joe and Jim, along with myself and our team mates are sporting our uniforms with the big letter "S" on the chest; (Cheer leaders included). Jerry was a pleasure to be around. I will miss his great sense of humor, his smile and of course his as always interesting E-mails.

Always fun times at Waters Edge<br />Gerry you never be forgotten

I met Jerry in 2010 while considering purchase of a Florida condo, where he had been a long term President. It was immediately evident that he was a "genuine guy" as he helped me through the process and was very welcoming. It didn't take long to learn that he loved "sweetie pie" and all of his family, but he seemed to thoroughly enjoy bettering the condo association and enjoying the company of all its residents. My favorite "Jerry Story" was when he told about how he & Ron closed a bar and went back to a party at a motorcycle gang's place. I could listen to him tell that story every year. He did an amazing Foster Brooks impression. I know that he enjoyed his life and he will be sorely missed.

Dear Joan and Pete and family,
We are all thinking of you at this difficult time.
Jerry was such a joy to be around. He was always funny and loving. I remember Pete going on golfing outings with him and family gatherings seeing him.
It’s a loss for all of us, but mostly to your family.
Sending prayers and blessings your way.
Lots of love from us,
Chris and Jim,
Lindsey and Kylee.

We only met Jerry and Barb last year at Water’s Edge but he definitely made an impact on our lives! His stories are something we will never forget but more than that his kindness and him reaching out to include you like he had known you forever. The last day we were there he made a point of coming over and telling us goodbye and that he was looking forward to us being neighbors the next year! RIP Jerry and our thoughts and prayers are with Barb and the family

My heart is heavy with your and our loss. You mentioned sharing stories, here is mine. I got to work with Jerry for many years at Sharon Woods. I was a book smart, young college graduate who knew agronomy but had a long way to go about understanding people. So for me, going to work with Jerry was like going to a master class in leadership. I am a proud graduate of OSU and ZWMGR University. The Z stands for Ziegler. One could say I owe the success of my career to Jerry and his mates I would not argue that. Specifically, my interpersonal professor Jerry taught me work ethic, honesty, support of co workers, and finally and possibly the most important lesson, find joy in what you do. Oh and smile! I thank you Jerry for all the lessons that lead me in my 39 year Park District career. With love and respect, I thank you, I cherish you, and I will miss you. Jimmy.
