Rest in Peace, Mama A. Hug your boys. I know you've missed them. Especially Duane. And thank you. Thank you for raising what became 2 of the greatest Rock & Rollers of ALL-TIME, Gregg & Duane, who led The Allman Brothers Band. The greatest band to ever grace a stage.

Gregg, I grew up across the road from your Mother's home in Edgecombe County, NC but was too young to know any of the children except Erskine. I have not seen him in many years but remember him well...was my school bus driver. The family was well thought of in our community. So sorry to hear of your loss. Her obituary sounds as if she were a great lady that will be missed a lot.

Gregg, I am very sorry to hear you have lost your Mother. I know she was a very important part of your life.

As a fan of the Allman Brothers since their inception, I was surprised to learn their mother was from my home state of North Carolina. My sincere condolences and prayers go out to the whole family.

To Gregg and the Allman Family, My Mom, Eveyln Whitfield Adams is 94 years old and still lives in her same home of 60years in Rocky Mount, NC, was Jerry's 1st Cousin. Jerry was a favorite cousin of My Mom's. My Mom enjoyed Jerry so much as they grew up together and kept in touch over the Years. We (Mom, Dad my wife Lois and I)visited Jerry at her Home in Daytona when we traveled to Florida where Jerry was so warm and inviting to us and shared her stories of Gregg, Dwayne and Family. My Mom Enjoyed so much getting together with Jerry, Swindell, Janie and Erskine.
Jerry will be deeply missed, she was an important part of My Mom's Life. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you,

Long time back to the farmbarn , Sarasota, Fla. We would see & get to have occasion chats with mama A , she was always cheery, personable, so sweet to visit with...a good lady. Highly respected & fun to see & interested in everyone..she was so proud of tne boys & we all loved her !We met Devon briefly when he played in San Antonio, but sadly missed Greg...been quite a few years since those Sarasotadays...Devon, I believe you have her smile...Greg & family, as always , sweet thoughts, esp.now...hugs in thoughts to all of you.
