Dora West Obituary
Dora May West, 94, of Charlottesville, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
She was born in Albemarle County on July 23, 1917, the daughter of the late Fleming E. Hawley and Peache Pearl Mitchell. She was also predeceased by her son, Lee Hawley; her brothers. Robert and Pete Hawley; and her sisters Laura Hawley Breeden and Cora Hawley. She was a former member of South Plains Presbyterian Church. Mrs. West worked as a nurse's aide at University of Virginia Medical Center. She is survived by her grandson, Lee Hawley Jr. and his wife, Amy, and one great-grandchild, Katlyn Hawley; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private. My mom Passed some years ago, But she would tell you that one of her good friends was Miss Dora West. I respected this woman, Because she was my friend also.. You lost a Great mother, sister grand, greatgrand and Friend. I am so sorry for your loss.
