GRACE ACHTERHOF (NEE VAN KUIKEN) LANSING, IL Grace Achterhof (nee Van Kuiken), age 93, of Lansing, IL, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012. Mrs. Achterhof is survived by two daughters: Trudy (Carl) Smits of Lansing, IL and Phyllis (Jack) Jonkman of Sabula, IA; eight grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister, Marie Oldenburger. Mrs. Achterhof was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Achterhof; and three brothers. Visitation Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 3500 Glenwood-Lansing Road Lansing, IL from 4:00 p.m. with the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. Dr. Calvin Aardsma officiating. Private interment at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lansing, IL. Grace was a member of Bethel CRC in Lansing, IL. She loved her family very much. Memorial contributions may be given to Chicagoland Prison Outreach, 236 E. 161st PL, South Holland, IL 60473. Arrangements entrusted to Smits- DeYoung Vroegh Funeral Home. my sincere sympathies to all of you. I remember your Gram well. I know how hard it is to lose that last grandma (for those of you who are my age (Sue, Julie, Lisa, etc). She is rejoicing with Jesus her Savior in heaven. Hallelujah! What a comfort!
