It is with great sadness that we must say goodbye to our beloved Geri. She was a part of our lives for only a short time but fond memories of her will last forever. We will miss her immensely, but we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, and in time we will rejoice that Geri has moved on to rest with the Creator. Geri was predeceased by her sister Diane, grandparents James and Elizabeth Tuckanow. She is survived by her husband Brad McKenzie and her first husband, the father of her children, Gary L. Pelletier. Children Donnell (Toni), Topper (Lisa) and Lonette (Rob, father of children), her mother Mary Ironchild and father Christopher Ironchild. Geri is also survived by her sister Sharon (Raymond) and brothers James (Terri), Mike (Brenda), John, Irvin, Sheldon and Roy. Grandchildren Danielle, Murray, Kenny, Dallas, Delilah, Bryce, Donnell Jr., Shay, R. Benjamin, Chase and Maceon and six great-grandchildren and special great-grandson that she raised Tyrese. Former mother-in-law Gladys M. Pelletier, former brothers-in-law G. Wayne Pelletier and Murray Pelletier (Vicki); former sisters- in-law Delores Pratt (Jim), Carol Pelletier, Janice Benjoe (Clarence), Shelley Pelletier, Breeta Allary; special auntie and friend Joyce and uncle Walter Pelletier. Geri will be deeply missed by her families from the Cowessess First Nation, Piapot First Nation and the File Hills First Nations. Geri was blessed with a very extensive family. She was lovingly accepted as a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and granddaughter. Geri had a considerate, compassionate and understanding heart that provided her with many meaningful friendships. Geri generously opened her home to many, her giving and loving nature was always guided by her desire to do the right thing. The family wishes to express their utmost gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the Pasqua Hospital ICU for the kind and compassionate care given to Geri. A traditional Wake will be held on the Piapot First Nation, Friday, July 11 at 4:00 p.m. Service will also be on the Piapot First Nation, Saturday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. and Burial at Riverside in Regina by 4:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Speers Funeral Home.
