Geraldine Pouland

Funeral services for Geraldine (Martin) Pouland, 88, of Diboll will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenny Hibbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Pouland was born May 18, 1926 in Waskom, Texas to Effie (Vinson) and John T. Martin, Sr., and died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Pouland resided in Diboll most of her life. She was a 1943 graduate of Diboll High School where she was Diboll's first Drum Major. She worked for TSE Railroad, Temple-White, and retired from the Temple Inland Personnel Department after 39 years. Mrs. Pouland had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Diboll for 74 years. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John Ralph and Sandra Pouland of Diboll; daughter, Peggy Scarborough of Diboll; granddaughters, Andrea Swor and husband Kevin and Marty Scarborough, all of Diboll; grandsons, Hileory Powell "Roho" Pouland and wife Teresa and Steven Scarborough, all of Diboll; great-grandsons, Brandon Pouland and wife Shelby, Brandal Pouland, Lawren Scarborough and Shane Scarborough; great-granddaughter, Hiliary Cheyenne Swor; great-great-granddaughters, Bristol Faith Pouland and Addison Grace Pouland; and special caregivers, Joyce Carlton, Carolyn Springfield, Shelia Greenwood and Lesley White. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hileory Pouland, Jr.; brothers, John Terry Martin, Jr. and Mazelle Martin; and son-in-law, Lawrence Scarborough. Pallbearers will be Roho Pouland, Brandon Pouland, Brandal Pouland, Steven Scarborough, Lawren Scarborough, Shane Scarborough and Kevin Swor. Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Johnson, Joe Donald Smith, Vernon Burkhalter, Glenn Price and Pete Weeks. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W.
