Geraldine E. Ridenour (Thomas), 76, a longtime resident of Downers Grove, Ill., passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 12, 2004.

Gerry, born on July 7, 1928 was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother and constant friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Gerry, the daughter of J. Chester and Gladys Thomas, was born in Tallmadge, Ohio and graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1946. She married Neal H. Ridenour in 1950 and shortly after moved to Chicago, Ill. when Neal was hired by United Air Lines. During her life, Gerry enjoyed bowling, square dancing, crewing for her husband at glider contests and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Neal; her children, Ron ald (wife Dria) of Naperville, Ill. and Cheryl (husband Craig) Al lind of Chicago; her grandchildren, Neal Robert and Elizabeth Ridenour and Jason and Kevin Allind. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty (Ross) Emery of Uniontown, Ohio, Wilma Pav kov of Barberton, Ohio, Ruth (Ed) Jackson of Bradenton, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held on September 18, 2004 at 10 a.m. at First United Meth odist of Downers Grove. Memorials may be directed to Univer sity of Chicago Cancer Research Center, www.uccrc.org/donations or charity of the donors choice.
