LAWRENCE — Gerard J. Buote, 75, of South Lawrence, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston following a long illness.
Gerard was born, raised and educated in Lawrence and he attended the former Sacred Heart School. He worked for Narragansett Beer Co. for over 30 years and most recently for The Gillette Co. for 10 years prior to his retirement in 1995.
He attended the former Sacred Heart Church for many years. Gerard was a hard working and dedicated father and husband. In his free time he enjoyed playing 45s, watching the Red Sox and spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves his loving wife, Norma Buote of Lawrence, a daughter, Wendy Hannon and her partner Bill Floyd of Nashua, N.H.; a son, Derek Buote of Lawrence, three sisters, Irene Somma and her husband William of Lawrence, Edna Houde of Lawrence and Rita Scanlon of Derry, N.H., father-in-law- Frank Carignan of Methuen and two sisters-in-law, Pauline Buote of Salem, N.H. and Rita Buote of Lawrence and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Arrangements are by the Arthur J. Scott Funeral Home, 298 S. Broadway, Lawrence. At the request of the family there are to be no immediate services. Services and burial of ashes are scheduled for the spring at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
