Dear Matthew, James, Melissa and Leeland,

I'm so sorry for your loss, please accept my deepest condolences. I have only had the chance to meet Gerard a few times, and I'm so sad I won't get to know him better. Matt always spoke fondly of his father and it's clear how much he loved each of you. Gerard had a great sense of humour and could put a smile on anyone, and I always felt welcome in Port Hood. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the funeral but me and my family will have you in our thoughts.

Our deepest sympathy to Gerard's family - Matthew, James, Melissa, Leeland, his sisters and brothers, extended family, and friends. A shocking loss of a man I don't think I ever saw without a huge, mischievous smile on his face. He will be greatly missed. The love he had for his family lives through you.

Our hearts go out to all of Gerards' family. We were shocked to hear of his passing. I will miss our nightly talks over coffee and carmel cakes during our stays at the camp down the road during hunting season. Always a helping hand, and always welcoming, he will be missed, but never forgotten.

Very shocked to hear the sad news of Gerard's passing. Although it is hard to imagine life without a father, grandfather and friend to many know that he still lives on in your hearts.

I remember going to my father, Fred Harvey's camp over the years and always being welcomed by Gerard and the Campbell family.

Know that he will never be forgotten.

Our deepest condolences to the Campbell family. Gerard will always be remembered by us during our trips to Cape Breton, from the time Morris was young and hunting with his Dad, to bringing his children four-wheeling, and later his snowmobiling trips. Gerard was always lending a helping hand, and we always felt very welcome.

To the Campbell Family,
We are so sorry to hear of your recent loss. Our condolences extend out to all the Campbell family. I feel a great loss to myself as Gerard always extened his upmost hospitality and was always there to lend a helping hand. At least the memories can always keep him close.

We are so very sorry to hear of Gerard's passing. I am Fred Harvey's oldest daughter. Although I haven't been to Cape Breton in years Dad would always keep us up to date. He loved it in Cape Breton and found a good friend in Gerard and the Campbell family.

Hold your memories tight. You all have a special angel watching over you now.

With our heartfelt condolences,
