It was an honor to know Gerd. He gave us several interviews for
our website American Legends about his close friend, the great
poet, Philip Lamantia and his friend and mine, Carl Solomon. I have
many fond memories of visiting Gerd in his New York apartment and
enjoying that great coffee he made. Ron Martinetti

I lived in the USCO church in the mid 70´s after Gerd had moved on, but he would show up on occasion. He still owned it. I feel honored to have had that connection. A special part of my now distant youth. Gerd was an amazingly creative artist. RIP to Gerd and to a time and place.
