Gerry was just a wonderful human being. Yesterday, when I learnt about his death, after the initial shock, it brought me great sadness. Gerry's smiling face kept flashing in front of my eyes. I had the great privilege of working with Gerry briefly and he was such a gentle and caring person. My heart felt condolences go to the entire family. Gerry will be missed dearly.

Dear Mark and Hollis, I just heard from my mom (Anne) yesterday that Gerry had passed away. I'm so sorry, my thoughts and prayers are with you both. I have so many good memories from when you lived on Trinity Ave. in Sydney. Gerry would take Mark and I to the bank when we were kids and all over Sydney if he had something to do. I'm glad I had the opportunity to know him and I'll never forget how kind he was.

But I considered him much more than a business associate- I considered him a friend. Gerry had a great attitude toward life- always upbeat and positive and I will miss him. My son Alex will always have very find memories of the annual Hagerman Bentz golf tournament where Gerry, Geordie (the ace), Alex and I would go out every year and have a blast. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Gerry's passing. I first met Gerry when he was in Sydney and I in Halifax, both with Thorne Riddell, and we worked together on a project. We remained close until I left KPMG in 2000, but it always seemed there would be time to reconnect. My sincere condolences to his family.
