Gertrude M. Collins

COLLINS, Gertrude M. (Cummings) Mrs. Gertrude Margaret (Cummings) Collins, 97, of Glastonbury, and formerly of North Adams, MA peacefully passed away on Thursday (July 5, 2007) at Glastonbury Healthcare Center. She was born in North Adams, MA on May 15, 1910, a daughter of the late Owen and Mary (Horrigan) Cummings. She was the widow of John F. Collins, who died on April 25, 1979. They were married on Oct. 10, 1934. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Lord and her husband, Robert, and Mary Mazzara and her husband, William, both of Glastonbury; and one son, James Collins and his wife, Grace of Bennington, VT; and eight grandchildren- John Lord, Peter Lord, Thomas Lord, Katherine (Lord) Lane, Timothy Collins, Mary (Collins) Habich, Megan (Mazzara) Burns, and Kathleen (Mazzara) Mahon; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Seven sisters and two brothers are deceased. She was the last of her immediate family. A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Gertrude Collins will be celebrated Tuesday July 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery.
