GERTRUDE D.
Age 102, of Saxonburg, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. Born July 1, 1913, in Herman, PA, she was the daughter of George Kraus and Sophia Mages Kraus. Gertie was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church in Cabot where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. Surviving are daughter, Patricia LeClere of Pittsburgh, PA; her granddaughter, Christine (James) LeClere Hilliard; three great-grandchildren, Lauren LeClere, Lilah Kathryn Hilliard and Frazer LeClere Hilliard; and two great-great- grandchildren, Aria Grisib and Brinley Grisib. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John J. Duke, August 26, 1984; her grandson, John Duke LeClere; one brother; and six sisters. Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the FOX FUNERAL HOME, INC., Saxonburg, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph R. C. Church, with Fr. William Graham, officiating. Private interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Herman. Memorial donations may be made to the John J. Duke Scholarship Fund at Knoch High School or the Christian Mothers and St. Joseph Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot, PA 16023. www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com

My Dear Aunt Gert, Angel in Heaven, I miss you so much! I miss visiting you and staying overnight, I miss attending Sunday Mass together, the delicious meals you prepared just for ME. I miss the laughter and the tears we shared together as well as the stories and memories you shared on your life and Uncle Johns.
Thank you for being such an inspiration not only on my life, my sons as well. They adore you!
