Gertrude HOFFMAN Obituary
The family of Gertrude Hoffman is saddened to announce the passing of their beloved mother on June 20th 2012 in Parksville, BC. Gertrude was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.
Gertrude will be lovingly remembered by her three sons and daughters-in-law; Dennis and June Hoffman of Calgary, AB, Mark and Trish Hoffman of Qualicum Beach, BC, and James and Margo Hoffman of Parksville, BC, her four daughters and sons-in-laws; Louise and James Barrand of Qualicum Beach, BC, Gloria and Mike Russell of French Creek, BC, Rosalie and Michael Garland of Parksville, BC, and Anita Hoffman/Hal Lepage of Vernon, BC. Gertrude will be missed by her grandchildren; Scot Jackson, Kim Twin, Janet Baumann, Andrea Smith, Michael Hoffman, John Barrand, Cody Russell, Elliot Russell, Tara Garland and Keri Garland. Also missing GG (great-grandma) is Ashlyn Smith, Trevor Smith, Teagan Baumann and Lochlan Baumann.
She was predeceased by her husband William in 1982. Gertrude moved from Lake Lenore with her husband and children to Errington, BC in 1967. Mom was an enthusiastic bowler for many years at Sunset Lanes and has numerous trophies attesting to her skill. She was a volunteer for many years at the Senior Drop-In Centre and had missed not being able to visit the members for the last few years due to failing health.
She was a parishioner at the Church of the Ascension and member of the CWL. Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which was held at the Church of the Ascension, 887 Wembley Rd Parksville, BC on June 25th 2012 at 11:00AM with Father Mel Bayron officiating.
