Wife,children,parents, and sister of Gianfranco,
We are still in disbelief over the loss of such a wonderful man. It is clear when reading the comments on this website that Gianfranco had a way of touching everyone he encountered. We can only imagine how much more he touched your lives.
We think of you often and pray for your peace and comfort.

Cara Famiglia Giammaria,

Dear Giammaria Family
For years Mr. G. visited on hot lunch Wednesdays and he was always so considerate and thankful. Mr. G. taught all 3 of my boys and Alexander was with him this year and we are truely thankful for having had him as they call him their "favourite teacher". He made an impact on them as they respected him and now speak of him with wonderful memories which I'm sure they will never forget. There are not enough words to express the great sadness that we feel for your loss. Our prayers are with you and your family and may God give you the strength and faith that you need today and everyday in the future.

Hi,
I am a dear, old friend of Silvania and Doug Spindler. I was very touched to here of your husbands passing.
Silvania talked of what a wonderful, kind heart your husband was on this earth. He obviously touched many peoples lives. Perhaps God needed such an Angel in heaven to do his work.
I will keep you and your children in my nightly prayers.

Our deepest condolences to you and the rest of your family. All three of my children were blessed to have had Gianfranco for their teacher at St.Helen's. He was a wonderful teacher and a positive role model for all the children. He was one of the kindest, gentlest and most compassionate people I had the pleasure of knowing. Gianfranco was an inspiration to us all and he touched so many lives. We will always remember his gentle spirit and his joy of life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was surprised to hear about Mr.G. He was a nice teacher. Mr. G was nice to everyone. He would say hi to them when he would go down the stairs to his classroom in the old artroom. Mr.G was in my team last year in gr. 2 for sports day and we were red. I am going to miss him. My mom, dad and sister are really going to miss him too. Mr.G was the best.

I am truly saddened by this tragic event. I couldn't even believe it when I found out about it. Mr. G was always very nice. He was a great coach and was currently coaching my Grade 6 basketball team. He always had a smile on his face and waved to everyone he saw walking down the hallway. I remember last year at our sports day, he was on the red team, and coached our team to win sports day! He will always be in my thoughts and prayers and he will never, ever, be forgotton. I'm sure that he is watching over us, all the time, from heaven. I hope his wonderful, joyful, and happy spirit will live in all of us for the rest of our lives. His memories will always be with us, no matter where we go.

Denise, Dante, Mauro , Alessia the Giammaria and Andolfatto families...It's been almost a week since that tremendous outpouring of love for Gianfranco and the grief is still very evident with each passing day . Gianfranco was a man who epitimized living the way of God. He was a kind and gentle soul with open arms and an open heart to all of those around him. Mr G will surely be missed by all who knew and loved and respected him. There is a huge void in the St. Helens community may Gianfranco watch and protect over all that loved him from up above. He will be forever remembered in all of our hearts.

I just heard of Gianfranco's passing yesterday through a childhood friend. The Giammaria family lived on the same block as me and we used to play together when we were kids along with his sister Annamaria and the other neighbourhood kids. I lived in the half blue house, second from the corner of the t-alley(with the 2 apple trees), while the Giammarias lived in the green house on the corner of Triumph & Nanaimo. I haven't seen the Giammaria family since they moved, but I never forgot them. To the Giammaria families, you have my deepest sympathies.
Gianfranco, I hope to meet you again...we can tear around on our bicycles again! Rest in peace.

Dear Giammaria Family,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Gianfranco was my classmate in high school, but more recently I would run into him at my nephew’s soccer games. He was always friendly. His devotion to his children shined through in his warm smile, energy and enthusiasm. Find comfort in knowing that Gianfranco touched and inspired so many people that crossed his path. He is in a wonderful place now, but will never be forgotten here on earth.

Dear Mrs.G, Dante, Mauro and Alessia,
I am truly saddened to hear of Mr.G's passing. He was a remarkable and genuine man, like no other I have met. I had the pleasure of being in Mr.G's very first gr.6 class at St.Helen's and then later returning to go to camp and work as a counsellor along side this wonderful man. He taught his students, not only the curriculum, but more importantly, about life and values. He was so proud of his family and loved them all dearly and wanted to share his life with everyone he touched; I will never forget how Mr.G invited his students into his life when he shared his newborn son Dante with us within the first few weeks of our gr.6 year. I will not forget anything I learned from watching him role-model such an honorable life. Mr.G will be deeply missed by all those who he touched in his life. Mrs.G and kids may you find comfort in knowing what an amazing and inspirational man your husband/ father was, and how he loved you all dearly.

Dearest Giammaria Family,
It is hard to find the words to express our saddness. All I can hear these days is Gianfranco's sweet voice saying "calma". His passing is so unbelievable. We had the pleasure of being in Eugene together that summer for our Master's. It was very obvious how much Gianfranco loved his family and would do anything for his friends. He had such an incredibly wonderful personality and a smile that would just make everything ok. We are so so sad and feel such a loss and we didn't even know him that well. This tells you what kind of an exceptional person Gianfranco was. We can't even imagine the sorrow Denise, Dante, Mauro, Alessia and his parents must be feeling. Our prayers are with you.

Upon hearing the sad news of Gianfranco's passing from many miles away, my heart found it's way to you all. I am still shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of a man who has inspired an entire community; A colleague who always shared a smile, a husband and father who demonstrated true family values, and a teacher who led an entire generation of youth by his genuine example. Denise, I hope you are able to find comfort in knowing that your husband's influence on the lives of so many young people, has helped to build a great future for our community. His legacy will live on and he will never be forgotten. When God calls a man like Gianfranco, we know He is calling only His best.
Gianfranc, thank you for personally inspiring me to make a difference in this world. Ti mantengo sempre nel mio cuore.

I am extremely saddened by the news of Gianfranco's passing. He was one of the nicest people you could ever know. He always had a smile and time to talk to you whenever he saw you over the years. I hope that the memories of your short time with him will give you some comfort now and in the future.
Fondly,
Josie Zambito Orazio

Dear Denise, Dante, Mauro, Alessia and all of Mr. Gammaria Family:
Our hearts go out to you and our prayers are with you all. Our daughter Anna (St. Helen’s graduate of 2005) and son Radek (thought by Mr.G - Grade 6 at St. Joseph’s School) were fortunate to have been touched by his presence. He always had a smile and was able to draw the positive from everyone around him. He gave the gift of kindness, wisdom and loving to all. He has been an inspiration and has left a valuable legacy in each of us.
There are no words that can truly express the loss and sorrow that we feel during these days. Mr. G, you will be deeply missed by all, it’s a privilege to know you.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during these difficult time

Dear Denise, Dante, Mauro, Alessia and all of Mr G’s family:
Our hearts go out to you and our prayers are with you. Alison was fortunate to be in Mr G’s final class that graduated in June 2006. We, among all of St Helen’s school and church community, are fortunate to have been touched by his presence. He gave the gift of himself, wise beyond his years and loving to all. He has been an inspiration and has left a valuable legacy in each of us. We believe he went straight to heaven and below are beautiful words we feel he may be saying to each of us...
Parable of Remembrance
“Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way, which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone,
wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near, just round the corner.
All is well.”

To the Giammaria Family:
Our children were very fortunate in that they were both taught by Mr. G. at St. Helen's. We have yet to meet a more patient, soft-spoken & virtuous teacher who sincerely cared about the children and their well-being. In turn he gained the respect of children and parents alike. God bless and keep you all during this devastation that has hit your family and that of the community of St. Helen's.

I cannot express the saddness that I feel knowing that the Lord has called such a wonderful man home. Gianfranco was truly one of God's creatures and the world is a little more empty without him. I always knew him to have a wonderful outlook on life. He was always understanding and compassionate towards everyone and we all loved him for it.
My deepest sympathy to the Giammaria families. May you find peace knowing that he will always be looking after you from above.
