Gilbert Farrell “Bob” Jones, 79, of Huntsville, AL passed away at home on March 6, 2018 surrounded by his family’s love.
Bob was born in Baileyton, AL. He was a graduate of Fairview High School and received a Bachelor of Science from St. Bernard College in Cullman, AL. Upon graduation Bob dutifully served his country in the US Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from military service, Bob embarked on his career of 34 years in Accounting and Finance at CSC, Boeing, and Unisys.
In his spare time, Bob would likely be found working on his family farm and homestead in Baileyton, AL where he helped farm cotton as a child and then cattle later in his adulthood. He was an avid lifelong fan and season ticket holder of Alabama Crimson Tide football. Bob was baptized in Christ in 1954, and attended Madison Church of Christ in Madison, AL until his death.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Selmer, mother Alma Ruth (Ford), and sister Margaret Jean Jones all of Baileyton, AL.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years Lois (Puckett Edwards), two sons; Rick Edwards of Raleigh, NC and his wife Kristy; Jeff Edwards of Harvest, AL and his wife Tammy; a daughter Susan Kleminsky of Madison, AL and her husband David; 7 grandchildren: Kristian Testerman (husband Skylar), Connor Kleminsky, Bill Edwards, Lily Edwards, Andrew Edwards, Noah Edwards, and Sophia Edwards. and 1 great grandchild- Maya Testerman.
