Gilbert Gonzalez Obituary
Gilbert lived a life filled with love, respect, and dedication to family and friends. He loved hunting, cooking, and spending time with his loved ones, especially watching his grandchildren grow. He cherished every friendship and always made sure to stay connected with those he cared about. Gilbert was the person you could call in any situation-dependable, kind, and respectful. He truly cared for others and always wished the very best for everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Odilia R. Gonzalez.
Left to cherish his memory are his fiancée, Pauline Galvan; his children, Vanessa (Louis) De La Sierra, Angelyn (Morgan) Decker, Alex (Brittany) Gonzalez, and Anna Gonzalez (Kyle Mitchell); his siblings, Edna and (Elio) Ramirez, Diana and (Frank)Guerra, and Adrian and (Melva) Gonzalez; many nieces and nephews and his many grandchildren: Haylie De La Sierra, Louis Aaron De La Sierra IV, Braydin Deitz, Samuel Decker and Skylyn Decker Peyton and Weston Gonzalez, Avery, Emaire, and Colton Mitchell He is also joyfully remembered with the anticipation of a great-grandchild soon to come.
Gilbert will be deeply missed and forever remembered for respect, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends and his love for cooking and his amazing BBQ. He truly had a gift for serving others.
Though Gilbert's time with us feels too short, the love, respect, and care he poured into his family and friends will live on forever. His memory will continue to guide us, his laughter will echo in our hearts, and his spirit will remain with us always. We take comfort in knowing he is at peace and resting in the presence of the Lord.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 am Friday September 12, 2025 at the Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Benavides Tx.

Gilbert was a great neighbor all of our lives and always would help our Mom when she asked him. He will be missed by all of his family and friends. May he rest in peace!!
