Gil was one of my two City Garage managers with him at the Police garage during the 1980s. He always had a smile on his face whenever we would talk about his garage payroll. Gil was always there if I had any problems to speak of. I also saw him frequently downtown at the City Controllers Office, where I ran the City motor pool parking lot.
He will be missed as a good boss & friend - RIP Gil !

My first day on the job with the City of Pittsburgh 40 years ago he was so nice and kind to me as I was a nervous wreck and he remained that way throughout our career together. I'll never forget that for the rest of my life and I'll always remember his great sense of humor and beautiful smile that came from his big heart. I kept saying I was going to give him a call then this hit hard when I heard...Rest in peace my friend and thanks again!

Mrs. Martinez, Rita, Gil and Heather. I am very sorry for the loss of your father and husband. He was a very sweet and great man. I was very lucky to have known him. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and if any of you need anything, I am here. I would have been been there but I respect your wishes. Sincerely Margie Sturm (cholewinski )
