Gilda was a woman of deep convictions, whose life was guided by strong moral values from which she never strayed, and clear principles from which she never compromised. She was an example of honesty, sincerity and loyalty, which were never put into default. She was deeply dedicated to her family, and, at the same time, hospitable and generous to all, always finding time to receive her friends in her house and treat them royally with the refined feasts personally prepared by her.

I am grateful that my husband and I were able to spend time with her after such a long absence. I will miss seeing her smiling face and giddiness as she received the big bear hugs from my husband.

Mother,
You were as beautiful in death as you were in life.

God took you in His own special gentle way and you will no longer battle pain.

You were so strong. It was your strength that guided me through those first difficult days.

Thank you for the gifts you gave me through your example:

Faith in God, Faith in the Church, Faith in Family.

Patience to navigate gracefully through so much adversity.

Forgiveness of all human transgressions to keep a pure heart.

The art and practice of prayer to keep connected to God daily.

The sacrifices that you made for us that few really fully understood.

And finally, your overwhelming devotion to family.

Your extraordinary and powerful connection to the Almighty Father was love.

Love is the answer.

Love is the key.

Love is the message.

We will carry your message forward now.

You are the love and the light of my life; my co-pilot.

Your memories will fill my heart all the days of my life.

Your devoted and loving Son, Donald.

To my other mother,
I am so glad I spent the morning with you last month. AS for special people you meet in your life, she was tops. One of the most caring women I have ever met. Ms Gilda I love you and will miss that warm smile. I know you are in a better place, but we all will miss you here.
