Gina Salas Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 19, 2017.
On Monday March 20th, 2017 our beloved Gina Salas (Trentacosti) passed away at Mountainview Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces. Gina was born on June 12th, 1979 in Blue Island, Illinois to Terry Lee and Mary Anne Trentacosti. She attended Central High School in Carollton, Georgia, where she was very active in the marching band. After high school she travelled, living in Portland, Oregon for a time and eventually settling in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Gina was a bright light who touched many lives with her generous and loving spirit. She had a way of making everyone she met feel special and loved. For many years, she was the beautiful, smiling face for Si Italian Bistro & Bakery, and during that time she built countless long-lasting relationships with both employees and patrons alike. Gina was the type of person that never met a stranger, to know her was to love her and be loved in return. She will be greatly missed by all those that were lucky enough to know her.

Gina was preceded in death by her mother Mary Anne and is survived by her father Terry Lee, her sister Joanne Pantak, and her brother Nicholas Trentacosti. She is also survived by her loving New Mexico family, her longtime partner in life Jeremy Hixon, his daughter Katie Hixon, Meagan Higgins and Marybeth Higgins, as well as countless loving friends. The all to soon loss of her is felt far and wide and we will be having a celebration of her life on Sunday April 23rd at 4pm. This event will take place at the home of her dear friends Martha and Grady Viramontes,125 William Bonney Rd. and will be a way for those that love her to honor her and share memories of her remarkable spirit.

Gina and I shared a love of clarinet playing. She and I both spent some time playing with a dance band in our high school days although she and I did not meet until sometime around 2000 here in Las Cruces. I will miss her smile. Good Bye Gina
