February 17, 1938 – June 9, 2017
Giovanni Battista Traversa passed away peacefully on June 9, 2017, with his loving wife by his side. He will be forever in our hearts and dearly missed. Giovanni is survived by his loving family, wife of 50 years, Rosetta, and children, Nadia, Riccardo and Silvia; daughter-in-law, Shari; and grandchildren, Taylor, Justin, Tia and Anthony and many nieces, nephews and friends. A viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on June 17, 2017 at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on June 19, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows, 525 Slocan Street, Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Alzheimer Society of BC. Condolences may be offered to the family at

Giovanni was a good neighbour to talk too. I grew up where he lived since I was a kid. Growing up I would see and chat with Giovanni as he works on his garden, and he would give me one or two vegetable from his garden. I will be chatting with Giovanni. Giovanni was a good friend and a good person to chat with. I know Tony the other neighbour will miss Giovanni.
