Gladys Barnes

BARNES, Gladys Passed away peacefully in Santa Rosa on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at the age of 80. Dearly beloved wife of the late Ben Barnes. A well known volunteer in the Santa Rosa community for over 60 years, Gladys was a very active member of the Community Baptist Church, Commander of DAV Auxiliary Unit #48, a member of the Salvation Army Home League, active with the Santa Rosa Senior Center, particularly with the Silver Singers and the Drama Club, active in Love Is The Answer, AARP and 50 years as the beloved Mother Witch. She will be greatly missed by many, her church family and her community family. She lived a life that exemplified her deep and abiding faith. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service celebrating Gladys’ life on Monday, January 13, 2003 at 12 Noon at Community Baptist Church, 1620 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa, with Reverend James Coffee officiating. Interment, Santa Rosa Memorial Park. If desired, donations in her memory may be made to Community Baptist Church Children’s Services, 1620 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95405. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2003 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the DANIELS CHAPEL OF THE ROSES FUNERAL HOME, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa.
