Janet Ciaccio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 7 to Dec. 9, 2018.
Janet Ann Ciaccio was born on November 28, 1935 in Sicily, Italy and entered the glorious kingdom of heaven on December 6, 2018.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bonnie Paul Ciaccio, to whom she was happily married for 58 years.
She is survived by her three children, LeAnn Ciaccio, Cynthia Blount and husband Glen, Joseph Ciaccio and wife Sheryl: brother John Isolano and sisters-in-law Tina and Mary Isolano, all of New York. She has six beloved grandchildren, who she cherished: Colton and Bailey Blount, Shelby Turner Downing, Andrew, Jonathan and Christopher Ciaccio.
In addition to being a faithful, loving wife to her beloved Bonnie, Janet was a loyal and devoted mother, grand-mother (Nani), aunt and friend.
She was a selfless servant to Jesus, and as well as to the community.
Along with her faith and love of Christ, her family gave her the most joy. The special occasions when every-one was together, especially at Christmas, are the most cherished. Her faith was unmat-ched and without that faith, our family would not be here today. She trusted in God that she was making the right decision – leaving everything that she knew behind in New York to move to Texas and marry an Italian cowboy. She was a true example of service, care and devout faith to her family and community.
She was a life member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and served as President of the Altar Society. She enjoyed teaching her faith and love of God to the children of the CCD program. She was a Eucharistic Minister and a Pro-Life advocate. She led and participated in many walks for the cause. Janet was a member of the Bishop's Guild, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Legion of Mary and St. Patrick's financial committee.
Janet served the community in various roles – she was a member of the Denison Service League, chair-man of the Bargain Box, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and a gold Coat Ambassador. She felt that one of her greatest achievements was bringing EWTN to Grayson County.
As a member of the National Federation of Republican Women, she was invited to the White House to meet Nancy Reagan. This was one of her most cherished memories. In addition to Washington, DC, her travels included Russia, Poland, Rome, France and Medjugore, Yugo-slavia to see the site where the Blessed Virgin appeared to the visionaries.
Janet was a successful entrepreneur and over the course of her lifetime owned several businesses. She owned Janet's Ladies Apparel in downtown Denison for 20 years. The shop allowed her to follow her dream and love of fashion, but most rewarding to her were the strong, life-long friendships she developed.
The family gives a very special thanks to the outpouring of support and care from our dear cousins and friends that offered never-ending visits, cards and strength. Thank you to Kathy Drake and Gina Cantrell for loving Mom during these last months.
She will be forever cherished for her un-wavering love, support and believing in us.
Rosary and visitation will be at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m, Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 314 N. Rusk, Denison, TX 75020 with Rev. Fred Caldwell and Deacon Gary Vogel officiating.
Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus Lodge 830, Denison, Texas.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Hwy. 69 in Denison.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a me-morial donation to the Knights of Columbus Bonnie Ciaccio Me-morial Golf Scholarship Fund: in memoriam of Janet Ciaccio, P.O. Box 351, Denison, TX 75021.
