Glen Burse, 84, of Jackson, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Born Monday, August 7, 1939, in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late V. W. Burse and the late Ruby Estes Burse. He was the Executive Director of New Pathways for Children. Mr. Burse was a devoted Christian and longtime Church of Christ Minister. Glen was the first Executive Director of Quinco Community Mental Health Canter at it's opening in the mid-1970's, serving five counties in in West Tennessee. Glen served in this role for eighteen years. He served as the President of Tennessee Children's Home for eight years from 1990-1998.
A Celebration of Life Service will be led by his son, Ricky Burse, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Skyline Church Of Christ located at 1024 Skyline Drive Jackson, Tennessee. Visitation will he held on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Skyline Church of Christ.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of sixty five years Delores Tate Burse of Jackson, Tennessee; two sons, Ricky Burse (Kim) of Hickory, Kentucky and Randy Burse of Nashville, Tennessee; one daughter, Pam Burse (Joe) of Jackson, Tennessee; two sisters, Jenell Hathcock of Bradford, Tennessee and Barbara Chism of Ridgely, Tennessee and he was "Pops" and "Granddaddy" to his four grandchildren, Jessica Todd, Bryan Melton, Jordan Burse and Madison Maxwell and five great-grandchildren, Emma Melton, John Todd, Carson Melton, Luke Todd and Noa Melton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded, in death by one brother, Jerry Burse.
The family asks that memorial gifts be directed to New Pathways for Children, P. O. Box # 10, Melber, Kentucky 42069 or on-line memorial gifts can be made at www.npfc.net.
