Glen Edward Fox

Glen Edward Fox, 73, of Diboll, was born March 14, 1936 in Angelina County, Texas, the son of the late Bertie Mae (Teer) and Glaucus Fox. He passed away Saturday, December 26, 2009, in a local hospital. Glen was retired from Bright Transportation as a commercial truck driver. He enjoyed his work, but also enjoyed being at home with his family - he loved his grandbabies! He enjoyed fishing, was an avid bowler, enjoyed drinking coffee at the Brisket House and swapping tall tales with all the other coffee drinkers. He also enjoyed playing Bingo, and whenever there was a door open to play, he was there. Glen was a member of First Baptist Church in Diboll, loved gospel music, and was a good Christian man. He served his country in the United States Navy. Survivors include his wife, Tommie Fox of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Jerry McGuire of Pollok; grandchildren, Amanda and Barry Pope of Diboll, Gregory and Roxanne Long of Olean, NY, Stacie and Todd O'Neal of Dallas, Jef and Tammy McGuire of Dayton and Shan and Stacey McGuire of Lufkin; 14 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Vicki Fox of Huntsville, AR; sister and brother-n-law, Brenda and Red Atkins of Houston; sister, Billie Ruth Metcalf of Overton; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members; special sister-in-law, Ella Fox; and special friends, Billie Rae Rice, Lottie Jo Bobbitt, Margie Kenner, Tracy, Billy and Kenneth Wayne Saxton, and Erica and Albert Mijares. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alvin Fox, sisters, Martha Ellen Bankston-Clay and Frances Jones. Pallbearers will be Barry Pope, Shan McGuire, Ray Crawford, Paul Wayne Atkins, Kevin Crawford and Joey Mullins, Sr. Honorary pallbearer will be Gregory Long. Graveside services for Glen will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan.
