Glen H. Melton Jr.

Glen(n) H. Melton, Jr., 78, of Reading, MA, formerly of Wakefield, MA, died stubbornly battling the Grim Reaper to the last second on September 28, 2024 at Bear Hill Nursing Home.

Glen was born in Lynn, MA on August 1, 1946. He was the son of the late Glen H. Melton, Sr. and Josephine (Coccoro) Melton. He lived most of his life in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield Memorial High School.

Glen also was a graduate of Salem State College and Boston University. He worked and retired as a teacher at Northeast Metropolitan Vocational High School for over 30 years. Glen enjoyed sitting with his dog, Pokey, pontificating to himself on Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham, NH in his free time.

Glen was the beloved husband of Rosemary (Stella) Melton. He was the loving father of Gregory Melton, Esq and his wife, Alison (Hardy) Melton, David Melton, MD and his wife, Jamie Hatcher, MD, and Andrea Kelly, APRN, and her husband, Paul Kelly. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Branden, Riley, Elliot, Harrison, Mila, Farrah, Marlo, James, and Vivienne.

In addition, Glen is survived by his brother, Joseph Melton, and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews whom he greatly appreciated. Lastly, Glen wished to thank Francis (Frank) and Patricia (Pat) Muse and David Brown for their unwavering support.

Services for Glen will be performed upon his wife, Rosemary's, passing according to his wishes. He will rest comfortably at one of his children's homes until that time.
