May your soul rest in peace, you are a sui generis. I am an Adjunct Professor today at ACC because you saw the potential in me and hired me in August 2005. I remembered this month vividly because it was the same month as Hurricane Katrina. Rest in Power, Glen

I knew Glen from childhood when our families were members of Asbury Methodist in Lubbock, Texas. We reconnected in 2000 when Glen lived in Austin, blessing my husband, Tom, and me, as well as many Methodists in Austin, by being a witness to the significance of full inclusion in our faith community. His beautiful gifts and grace helped influence our church, First United Methodist, to become affiliated with the Reconciling Ministry Network which advocates for the affirmation and welcoming of brothers and sisters in the LGBTQ community.

My condolences to the family. Mr. Hunt hired me 18 years ag, and became my mentor at Austin Community College. I had the privilege to learn from him and have great conversations. You will be missed!

I have known Glen for over 45 years. My fondest memory of him was that he was quite the storyteller. His stories always ended with a giggle, big grin, and eyes wide open. Hope he and MT are telling stories together again.

What a man. What a life.

His passion for this country, our democracy, and active citizenship was infectious. His legacy will live on through the lives of his students.

He will be missed, but more than that, he will be remembered by all that he touched with his intellect, quick wit, kindness, and generosity.

Mr. Hunt was the type of teacher to so many of us that we could call him Glen. Not in class of course. He was only 11 years older than us you see. He was one of us.

As an educator, Head of Engineering Academy, and Founder of a STEM Academy, I can say Glen was an impeccable educator capable of transferring State required standards to the tissue of the learner; elevating the State´s lessons the learner´s level. The lessons became ours. He taught us government and most memorable `Civics´. (Not required learning across our country any more). Glen taught us the most important aspects of what has made our country the greatest country in the history of mankind. Not perfect, simply the greatest good for its citizens and the world. He created proud constitutionalists. This is a lost art today I am afraid. Way to go Glen!

As his friend, I remember many wonderful events at his house; cookouts, NCAA final fours complete with raw coconut (tough to break open even with a hammer). I carried that tradition for decades.

Glen Hunt. Sitting in his black Lazy Boy. Floor lamp behind him. A small table to his right with a black rotary phone sitting on in. Things happening all around us, then out of no where Glen would pick up that heavy phone set out if it´s cradle and say, "hello". Everything else in the room would stop, dead stop. You see the phone didn´t ring. Glen would just pick it up, say hello, and there was someone else on the other end. For the longest time this added to the mystique that made up Glen Hunt. We learned later that sitting in the chair you heard a click from the phone just before it rang. If you were quick enough you could pick it up before it rang. But it definitely was part of the Glen magic.

I was privileged to be pallbearer with Glen for Andy Sowder. Now it´s Glen´s turn...can´t tell you how difficult and emotional this writing has been.

Loved and respected him so. So much of who I am was due to Glen. Patriot. Scholar. Researcher for truth. Constitutionalist. Educator. Miss you my friend, but see you soon. Celebrating your life!!!

Glen was my civics teacher at Idalou High School. He had a heart for his students teaching us to think and make informed decisions. He will be missed.

Glen was a good friend to my husband, Mike Cocanougher, and me during the time he was teaching at Idalou and we were attending Texas Tech. Good memories during our younger years and Glen was always a wonderful mentor and friend to all of us!

Glen was my history and government teacher in Idalou. Few teachers affect our lives the way Glen did mine. The world is a better place because of him. Glen, I will see you again one day. May God Bless your family.

Glen was our neighbor. He was the first to welcome us into the Ashton Woods neighborhood. Glen's heart of gold and smile will be missed. May the angels welcome Glen to his heavenly home and Christ comfort the family as they mourn the loss of a wonderful gifted man.

Glen was a fantastic church friend. He always had a big smile and a welcoming tone. He loved teaching and sharing his knowledge to his students. He will truly missed. But he has achieved his goal to spend eternity with God, Jesus and the Holly Spirit.

I graduated in the class of 1975. Glen was one of my fav teachers and I loved his teaching style and witty humor. His gift of teaching left a special legacy. We remained friends for many years and will always remember him. Such a great guy!!

Love the Hunt family and loved Glen so much! He was a great man full of wisdom and knowledge and his love for democracy and government amazed me. He was a great teacher, counselor and friend. Met Glen while we worked at the State Comptroller's Office. Fun, interesting, intelligent, thoughtful man. I wish I had known he was ill.

Glen was such an interesting man. I was privileged to spend some time working with him when he was at the Comptroller's office, and we shared an occasional lunch after he moved on from there. Thank you, Glen, for the New York trip, and for telling me about orange kangaroos in Denmark. Rest in peace.

Glen Hunt impacted lives everywhere he went! I was fortunate to have him as my teacher in Idalou. He will be missed.

I knew Glen since 1953--when we were kids in the first grade at overton elementary--we remained friends througout high school and college--and reconnected on Facebook more recently. Those of us who knew glen are very fortunate; he led a life of compassion and intelligence, from which we all can learn.
