Glen Schuberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 6, 2008.
GLEN A. SCHUBERG Died peacefully April 30th at home surrounded by family. He was 90. Glen was born in Stillwater, Minnesota on November 30, 1917 and married his childhood sweetheart, Ginny, in 1942 shortly before being shipped with his Army National Guard Unit overseas. He served with distinction and received a battlefield commission while in North Africa . On his return in 1944 they moved to California to start a new life, and a large family. After several years in the insurance business he opened his own agency in 1958 which developed into one of the most successful transportation insurance agencies in the country. He was still coming into the office until his death. After living 30 years in Northridge they were uprooted by the 1994 earthquake, which destroyed their house, enabling them to move to Camarillo and be closer to their extended family. Glen will be missed not only as a a wonderful father and grandfather, but also for his buoyant spirit, sense of humor, and Christian example. He is finally rejoining the love of his life, Ginny. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Tim McNichol as a caregiver and friend. Glen is survived by sons, Eric (Mary), Denny (Marlene), Stephen (Anne), Gary (Beth), Greg (Pam), and Mark (Debbie); 40 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny; and grandson, San. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Life League. There will be a Vigil Thursday, May 8, 2008, 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel, 2532 Ventura Blvd., Camarillo. Funeral Mass Friday, May 9, 2008, 11:00 a.m., at Santa Clara Cemetery, Oxnard, California. GRIFFIN FAMILY FUNERAL CHAPELS Directors (805) 482-1166
