Dear Family of Glenn, I am so sorry to read of Glenn's passing. What a shock to learn that he was in that terrible wreck on 1-85. I was on the way home from a Greenville hospital in a transport vehicle that day [had a 10 hour back surgery on June 19th.] when the driver took a detour because of the wreck.
I have a lot of dear memories of your family when we were neighbors there on Fairway court, in Hamilton, Ohio, especially of the times spent with your dear mother. I think Glenn was just in Junior High, or grade school when we moved there. Had we realized when the service was, Rick would have come to see all of you. He is now living in Anderson, as are Maribeth and Kristin. I would love to have an update as to your lives, if possible. I was very much impressed with all Glenn had accomplished, and was so well thought of. My daughter Kris's friend's husband worked with Glenn and spoke highly of him.
Please know I send my sincere condolence, even tho I know I am late contacting you. Mary Jo Schawe

To Glenn's family and brothers and their families: I haven't seen Glenn for a few years since he left Fairfield to go back to South Carolina where he started his adult life. Glenn and I go back to the days of Adams Elementary and Harding Jr High and Taft High School in Hamilton. I left the area end of my sophomore year due to my dad returning to rural farm life. I miss my Hamilton friends, especially Glenn. He was a mentor to me before I even knew the word's meaning. Always helping me understand things that I didn't quite pickup on from the teacher. The cool thing about Glenn was you didn't have to ask him-he already knew your didn't quite catch something being taught like the time I struggled 10th grade Geometry. He sat in front of me and just turned around and before you knew it he had me figuring it out.
Always a selfless, caring person and very funny. I don't think I ever saw him frown. From stories he told about exploring creeks up and around the Fairways Hills area off New London Road to watching him get his front teeth chipped in Phys Ed class, I got to know Glenn well. I only wish I had the presence of mind to stay in touch. He was a very good soul. If it wasn't for his brother Bruce I wouldn't have kept up with what Glenn was accomplishing in life. My prayers and heart sympathies go out to you all because he did love his family (especially his brothers) and I know he has left a hole where he was in the family. Godspeed Glenn and one day we shall meet again. Dennis Sasser, Fairfield, Ohio

We sure miss you Glenn. We are blessed to have known you as our neighbor. You inspired all of us in many ways. You made us feel welcome since the first day we moved in and you made us mint brownies. We were lucky enough to get to try many of your famous baked treats...raisin bars, oatmeal cookies, etc... Most importantly, you invested time into our 3 boys, and we are so grateful. Teaching them lacrosse, a love of biking, staying active and showing a hard worker. You inspired them in ways you may not have even known. To have a neighbor that loved our boys is priceless. You've left a piece of you in many lives through your years. Praying that can be carried on through the lives of your sons as well.

I know Glenn through Easley FUMC. I met Glenn as he started donating desserts to our bake-off fundraisers. He would swoop in with 3 or 4 desserts and disappear, not staying for the festivities. He would usually garner the most votes, but winners had to be present so he didn’t officially win until our last bake-off before COVID. We talked Glenn into staying so he could receive his well-deserved accolades. He wasn’t one for that kind of thing and it’s why he hadn’t stayed in the past. Well, he won the top 2 or 3 places, but we only gave him one trophy to be fair to other entrants. Glenn was such a gentle, kind soul. He will be greatly missed by me and the folks at EFUMC.

My heart sank when I learned the news of Glenn. We had been great friends since kindergarten and thru college years. Unfortunately we lost track of each other shortly after college and my entering the Army, until our 45th HS class reunion. We reminisced about what fine competitors we were in our youth, whether running, golfing (I was horrible) and even playing a little lacrosse together. It was so great to reconnect and making plans for future visits. I cycled but was not into mountain biking but told him that I'd give it try with him. Unfortunately we will have to do it in the next world. I had the sad duty to inform our class of his passing. Glenn didn't participate on Facebook but do know that on our class high school FB page, the tributes and prayers for Glenn and family are almost too numerous to count in less than 2 hours. I hope the prayers are comforting. Do know that I will dedicate my next ultramarathon run (when one is permitted) to honor Glenn. I salute my friend Glenn.

Glenn was a fantastic person, one of the nicest I've ever met. I had a chance to meet him in the early 2000's when I was a board member for the Electric City Cycling Club, and we had a chance to reconnect after I moved back from Georgia to work at Trek Bicycle Store of Greenville. Glenn was a great man, and will be missed. I wish nothing but my best to the family during this tough time.

Glenn was a very special man, a gentle soul . Glenn was a very intelligent engineer and was always willing to help mentor others which showed me he had a teaching heart.
Always a true gentleman and a great friend.

I knew Glen as one of the SAG people for the Tour de Tugalo (SAG stop #5). I was always impressed with his unfailing friendliness to the cyclists coming through, and of course, with the hundreds of baked goods he brought to the weekend. The mint brownies

I knew Glen as one of the SAG people for the Tour de Tugalo (SAG stop #5). I was always impressed with his unfailing friendliness to the cyclists coming through, and of course, with the hundreds of baked goods he brought to the weekend. The mint brownies were my favorite. I have added a picture I took during one of those TdT events. Of course, Glen is in the background while cyclists are upfront, enjoying the goodies. Prayers rising for all of you.

To Brandon, Travis and all the family. My entire family is saddened by this horrible tragedy that has taken place and has taken Glenn from us. Glenn was a wonderful person in so many ways, He was my Boss for several years and was when I retired in March 2016. My wife Carolyn and I send our love and prayers to all of you. May you feel God's love and comfort as you go thru this difficult time in your life.
