Mr. Glenn Irvin Cox, Sr. age 64 of 148 Lawhorn Circle, Americus died at his residence Saturday afternoon May 17, 2008 after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday May 20, 2008 from the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services, with Rev. William Hall officiating burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Webster County. Serving as pallbearers are Adam Cox, Colby Cape, Timothy Wright, Stephen Hilliard, Johnny Raybon, Junior Scott, Brandon Cox, Tony Cox and Walter Cox. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday evening May 19, 2008 at the funeral home, and at other times the family residence, 148 Lawhorn Circle.Mr. Cox was born Sept. 6, 1943 in Worth County the son of the late James Daniel Cox and Eula Susie Howell Cox. Mr. Cox was a supervisor at IMC in Americus and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.Mr. Cox is survived by his beloved wife Irene Faye Cooper Cox of Americus; three daughters and sons-in-law: Alice Marie Cox of Americus, Lisa Diane Wright and Richard of Dickson, Tenn., and Deborah Susan Cape and Len of Americus; three sons and daughters-in-law: Glenn Irvin Cox, Jr. and Cindy of Americus, Anthony Vernon Cox and Marsha of Leslie, Ga. and Walter Daniel Cox of Americus; five brothers and sisters-in-law: Earl Cox of South Carolina, Bobby Cox of Americus, Bill Cox of Kentucky, George Cox and Gail of Pearson, Ga. and Hoyt Cox and Janice of Kentucky; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Doris Horn of Americus, Betty McElroy and John of Plains, Ga. and Laura Marsh and Gene of Indiana; a brother-in-law: Logan Cooper of Preston, Ga.; sisters-in-law and husbands: Joyce Jones and husband Johnny of Plains, Ga., Ethel Sellards and Troy of Plains, Ga. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren: Tabatha Scott, Nichole Cox, Timothy Wright, Crystal Hilliard, Adam Cox, Kassie Raybon, Annie Wright, Kristina Cape, Stephanie Wright, Colby Cape and Brandon Cox; nine great-grandchildren: Allie and Brooke Scott, Cruz Cox, Tyler, Tanner and Madison Hilliard; Aliyah and Trevor Cox and Tayten Raybon; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.  Mr. Cox was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Cox and Cliff Cox.Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, C/O Mrs. Ann Harris 1801 Rose Ave Americus, Ga. 31709, or to Calvary Baptist Church 235 Calvary Church Road Leslie, Ga. 31764.  Aldridge Funeral Servicesis in charge of these arrangements.
