Glenn Deitchman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 27, 2025.
Glenn Richard Deitchman was born on August 13, 1988, and died suddenly on July 2, 2025, in Leipzig, Germany, just days shy of his 37th birthday. His unexpected passing is believed to have been caused by a cardiac or pulmonary event.

Glenn had a deep love for the arts from an early age. He performed in theater productions throughout high school and later earned a degree in English from Florida State University. After college, he moved to Chicago, where he immersed himself in the performing arts, including training in the Second City Musical Improv program-a pursuit he loved deeply. Glenn also studied voice and dance, and he never missed a chance to sing karaoke, where his performances were met with enthusiastic applause.

Creative and curious, Glenn was an avid home cook, often experimenting in the kitchen. He loved wood turning and making things with his hands. His career path was as diverse as his talents: he worked in restaurants while chasing opportunities in theater, voice-over work, and dialect coaching for television. He also found fulfillment teaching English as a Second Language.

Seven years ago, Glenn and his husband, Mike Frazier-a linguistics professor-relocated to Leipzig, Germany, where they built a life together surrounded by culture, language, and community.

Glenn is survived by his beloved husband, Mike; his parents, George and Tami Deitchman of Atlantic Beach, Florida; his older brother, Michael (Leslie) of Denver, Colorado; and his sister, Amelia Deitchman (Johannes) of St. Augustine, Florida. He was also a proud uncle to JJ and Chloe. Also surviving him is his 101 year old Grandfather, Richard Deitchman (Bea) and so many aunts, uncles and cousins too many to list here. Predeceasing him was his Nana and Papa, Nancy and Robert Abel, Orange City, FL and Grandma Pat Deitchman, Indianapolis, IN.

In memory of Glenn's vibrant spirit, memorial contributions may be made to gmhc.org.
