Glenn will be missed by so many, especially by his close friends and family members. Through his profession, he came in contact with and must have had a significant impact on an unknown number of students. Glenn was a few years ahead of me in school at Pontotoc but we became more closely acquainted for a few years when he was enrolled at the University of MS. He was always friendly and thoughtful of others. He was also one of the most knowledgeable people I have known as well as being a most engaging conversationalist. He and I were not close friends but I always appreciated and respected Glenn greatly.

Mr. Hatcher was a very intelligent and funny man. I use to look forward to going to his afternoon class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I was always in for a laugh. He talked about Hannah so much, it started to seem like she was my sister. He taught me so much on writing and being creative. He also would not hold his tongue for nothing. He said ehat he meant. He taught me to speak my mind. I will miss him dearly.

Glenn was the ultimate storyteller. I loved discussing movies, books, and television series with him. He kept me on my toes and led me to rethink the absoluteness of ideas. I enjoyed how he could take something and create a different landscape, such as when he created a new reality for the movie "Mulholland Drive." His love for his wife and kids was evident, and we all know that Owen hung the moon. He will be sadly missed on campus.

God is good and merciful, he keep those who pass on in his memory because they are precious to him. Psalms 116:15.

Reading Glenn's thoughtful & well written obituary you ultimately realize how inadequate such a space is to describe a life. A friend since elementary school days, Glenn was one of the most sensitive & talented people I have ever known. He was knowledgable on a variety of subjects, but an authority on all things artistic from music, film, fiction, non-fiction.... I sought his opinion and valued it always. He was one of the most encouraging and supportive people I ever knew. I will miss him always. May God bless those who were fortunate to know & love him.

He was one of the best professors I had at Gaston College. He always made class fun and I will miss him greatly.

I am so very sorry for your loss.... Glenn was one of the most unique people I have ever met. He was kind and compassionate and always encouraged his students. I loved to sit in his classroom and listen to the stories he would tell about his college days and his enthusiasm for books and writing. He was a gifted teacher and writer and a friend to all who knew him. Rest in peace Bear.... until we meet again. K.R.
