Glenn Soanes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 20, 2023.
Glenn Richard Soanes passed away peacefully on July 17, 2023, at his home in Devon, Pennsylvania. Born on February 28, 1961, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Glenn was a man of intelligence, generosity, and thoughtfulness, who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Glenn was a devoted husband, brother, father, friend and neighbor who was deeply loved and respected by them. He is survived by his wife Diana Hodnicki and sister Victoria Kirch (Ron), his niece Sarah, and grand-nephew Carson, as well as his dear friends Steve Rossi and Sandra Reifsnyder. Glenn was the proud father of six wonderful children, Alexander, Ashton, Avery, Arthur, Amber, and Andrew, as well as ten grandchildren all of whom he cherished dearly. His family will remember him as a loving and supportive figure, who always encouraged them to pursue their dreams and ambitions.

An alumnus of Penn State Main, Glenn carried his love for knowledge and education and investigation throughout his life. This intelligence was evident in his successful career as the Co-Owner of American High Mast, where he was known for his sharp business acumen and leadership skills. His dedication and commitment to his work were admired by his colleagues and served as an inspiration for many aspiring entrepreneurs. One of his standard pieces of advice was, "Listen Then Verify'.

Glenn had a zest for life that was contagious. He had a passion for bowling and golf, often investing time with his friends at the lanes and on the golf course. He also had a keen interest in vintage cars, a hobby that saw him own and restore his beloved 1990 Miata Sport. Glenn was known for his appreciation of the finer things in life, with a particular fondness for bourbon and fine cigars. His love for these pursuits was evident in the meticulous care he took in selecting his favorite brands and sharing them with his friends and family.

In addition to his professional accomplishments and personal interests, Glenn will be remembered for his generosity. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need and made a significant difference in the lives of many with his thoughtful gestures. Glenn's intelligent conversations, generous spirit, and thoughtful nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Glenn's unwavering positivity, his love for family, and his dedication to work have left a lasting legacy. While his passing is a deep loss, his life is a testament to the power of love, hard work, and the pursuit of passions. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, and his memory will forever remain etched in our hearts.

So, as we bid goodbye to Glenn Richard Soanes, let us remember him not with sadness, but with gratitude. Gratitude for the wisdom he shared, the love he gave, and the life he led. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on August 5, 2023 at 12.00 pm, Wayne United Methodist Church, 210 South Wayne Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087. Interment is Private

I bowled with Glenn for many years and 1 co-championship at jay lanes with John hart and Sarah was my best moments in bowling to date.

Glenn;

You were a dear friend and a kindred spirit in so many ways especially when it came to bowling (any kind, not just ten pins). Bowling was the game that we challenged by and enjoyed so many times. You (and I) have spent a lifetime trying to figure out how to master the lanes. This was as mostly an exercise in mastering ourselves as opposed to defeating an opponent. In this endeavor you taught me a lot as we shared so much time competing and building our skillsets (for the love of the game).

I am impressed by the life of devotion that you lived both on and off of the lanes. And it is this devotion to the communities that built around yourself that is your legacy.

You are loved and respected by so many! and because of all you gave, I see you as a great man!
