To the Kohl Family,

My deepest sympathy on the loss of a great person. Glenna was a wonderful lifeguard, even guarding the lives of future generations in her fight against skin cancer. I enjoyed working with Glenna at Dowses, and will treasure the time spent with her on the beach and in the water guarding and teaching swimming lessons.
May God bless you through this tough time; may her smile remain with you always.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
With deepest sympathy,
Mark

I was saddened yesterday to hear of Glenna's passing. I also graduated from SRU in 2005 and had met her through my cousin. Anytime I saw Glenna on campus she smiled greatly. She was always full of energy talking to many whom she came in contact with. Glenna will be remembered for that amazing smile, the strength she had for herself and to help change things for others. My thoughts are with the Kohl family.

I've never met Glenna, but I've followed the blog for a few years since hearing about her story from her friend. I am thinking of your family at this unbearable time. I can only pray that, in time, you will find some peace. I am truly sorry for your loss.

To Glenna's family, as well as friends. She will be missed and the lives she touched will certainly never be the same. Glenna was such an amazing person, one that seemingly only appears in fairy tales, but Glenna was very real. Never was she unkind or steered by anything other than her own pure morals and beliefs. My thoughts and love are with you in your loss. The world has truly lost an amazing soul far before her time.

I was so heartbroken today when I opened the paper. Glenna was a beautiful young woman inside and out. She always had a smile on her face and her upbeat spirit lit up the room. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Family and Friends
I don't think I can fully express what I feel in my heart. I LOVED GLENNA is best said. What an amazing gift Glenna has been to so many, especially to me. More than she or anyone could have ever realized, in such a short life time, she would truly make an amazing mark on the world. I feel so blessed to have worked with her and to know her through her dedication and caring of so many people in the Town of Barnstable. Glenna is Greatness with a beautiful smile and sparkling eyes, who has been a role model for her peers and many young people. She has been a vision of hope through out this terrible struggle. Her fight will continue through all of us. I can't find the words I feel in my heart for the families loss. Just know I LOVED GLENNA as so many people do and always will. God Bless you all.

I am Glenna's babysitter's (Rachel) best friend. I remember going to the Kohl house and staying with Rachel while she was watching Glenna and Jacob. Glenna was such a sweet little girl who grew up to be a wonderful, smart, beautiful and strong young woman. The most fond memory that I have of Glenna was hearing her play the piano. Being a musician myself, she was always eager to play a song for me when I visited. My thoughts and prayers are with the Khol family and friends in this difficult time.

Dear Kohl Family,

We were so sad to hear about Glenna. Through the school years, we always enjoyed watching all of Glenna's successes. She was such a friendly, bright, beautiful child. We admire her strength and courage. I'm sure she has saved many others from the dangers of tanning salons. We will always remember her fondly.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Glenna came into my life in 1986 at 4 years old. I was her babysitter until she was to old to have one. I will cherish every memory I have of her and hold it dear to my heart. My favorite would have to be of the many games of Pretty Pretty Princess we played together. And of all of our summers swimming in the lake. She was a wonderful child who turned into a beautiful young woman. I will miss her. Rachel
