So sorry to learn of Gloria’s passing. She was a great advocate for Oak Park and a supporter of OPRFHS and always happy to welcome students into her home. I know she will be missed by you all.

Gloria was a guide and mainstay for me when we worked together at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio (now Foundation) in the 1990s. She was clear and effective as a leader in hospitality for guests and visitors, and always present in day-to-day situations. Our contacts had diminished, but I remember her clarity of purpose and leadership. Sincere condolences, She is missed.

My deepest condolences to John, JT, and Christine. I cant remember ever knowing someone for such a short time, and having them leave as strong an impression on me as Gloria did. I hadnt seen her for nearly 30 years, yet the memories of her positivity are as fresh as if I spoke to her yesterday. Her association with Frank Lloyd Wright and the horizontal lines of his Prairie School architecture will always be a sharp contrast to her own stature, which stood tall, vertical and bright, like a lighthouse, solidly footed on a granite foundation, illuminating everything around her. She is an unforgettable person who had a meaningful life, and I will forever be one of her groupies.

JT,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember seeing your mom not long after our time at SAIC, and she was so proud of you and enthusiastic about your future. She shared that enthusiasm and generosity with the Home & Studio Foundation and could not have been more welcoming. Please accept my deepest condolences.
